Special Issues Supplements and Conference Content

Scope and responsibility

Every special issue, supplement, themed collection, or conference-derived collection must fall within the journal’s aims and scope. The Editor-in-Chief remains responsible for the integrity and editorial oversight of all content.

Editorial process

Special-issue articles undergo the same initial screening, ethics checks, plagiarism assessment, licensing, and external peer review as regular articles. They must be clearly labelled. At least two independent reviewers assess each research article. The Editor-in-Chief or a delegated board member oversees guest editors and may replace them or reject content that does not meet journal standards.
